Pulitzer Prize winning author, T.J. Stiles, presents the historical roots of the current economic situation, and how Vanderbilt created modern America. The lecture is free, and open to the public and a book signing will follow the lecture. Stiles is the author of The First Tycoon: The Epic Life of Cornelius Vanderbilt, and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award for his work. Grant Participants |
Grant participants will have the opportunity to meet Mr. Stiles at a reception prior to the lecture. The reception will begin on campus around 5:30pm in the Clocktower Lounge and the lecture will take place in Kenan Auditorium at 7 p.m. A book signing will follow the lecture. The lecture will be open to the public, so feel free to bring your spouse or significant other. Please let Cara Ward know if you intend to bring guests, as tickets must be reserved for the event. |
